I wrote a collection of articles for beginner front-end developers.
Then I designed and developed a custom AngularJS blog for them.
As a designer, I consider the aesthetics and user experience of a website or app as something extremely important for their success. But the pixel-perfect mockups and animations have to be turned into code, eventually.
Beautiful Frontend is a collection of articles with high-level advice (plus some very specific things) for beginner to intermediate front-end developers. It’s all about doing beautiful work on these subjects: SEO and Content, The Markup, Performance and Visual Design.
The Article View
Each of the article categories in Beautiful Frontend is color coded. Every article uses that as an accent color, which is applied to some parts of their content (such as the blockquotes or links) for an unique distinction.
Everything is designed for maximum readability. The main copy font (Meta Serif Pro) is gorgeous and very legible. The amount of characters per line is on point. The dark color scheme is easy on the eyes. The code is syntax highlighted in Monokai, many people’s favourite color scheme.
